Conversation Analysis of Conflict Talk between Couples in Why Women Kill

Conflict talk is a natural but complicated language phenomenon and one of the main focuses linguistic research. Based on Conversation Analysis Theory, this paper uses TV series Why Women Kill as source corpus concerned with development process manifestation conflict in initiating moves, oppositional moves terminating moves. Through observation analysis talk, shows that speaker’s identity, status, social era which he or she lives, ethnicity all contribute to choice turn- taking.
